This will be my first marriage and his second. The issue is that alot of people think that our wedding should be low key and that a wedding shower is not appropriate, becuase he has been married before. I dont agree with this at all and this really hurts my feelings that his friends and family feel this way. I have never had a wedding or a wedding shower and I feel that I am entitled to these experiences. Does anyone else feel the way I feel or am I being unreasonable?

I need help. My step-daughter is getting married on October 31, 2009 and is haveing a formal Masquerade Ball reception. She has stated that she wants people to come in formal attire. the problem is, several people in my family do not own formal wear nor will they be willing to rent or purches any for the wedding because the expenc involved. I have tried to tell her this but she thinks that they should so that her pictures look good. How do I tell her that she is being unreasonable.
